“Our task must be to free ourselves… by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and it’s beauty.”
― Albert Einstein
Hi Beautiful Souls,
I’m signing off for the weekend as my BF and I are headed up North to celebrate my Birthday ( not till the 8th!) in a super cute cabin in the woods. I will have to reception till Monday, so will be back to regular posting early next week.
It’s sooooooo important to disconnect, switch off and take a step back from all this stimulation. It can be hard when it’s a part of your every day life, and for myself, my practice & business. Simply being in nature is a simple yet powerful way to boost your immune system, reduce stress hormone levels, lower blood pressure, and improve sleep. In fact, the Japanese have a word for it: shinrin-yoku or Forest Bathing. There is a growing body of research supporting it as a powerful form of preventative medicine. One study I read found that a 2 hour walk in the forest over two days led to a 50% increase in natural killer cells, which are capable of killing viruses and tumor cells.
It’s not that the internet & social media are bad, not at all, it can just take a lot of energy from ourselves, so it’s important to let go of it every so often to truly connect to your inner self and spirit.
I hope everyone has a lovely + rejuvenating weekend ahead!
‘See You’ next week,
