Life is too short to stress yourself with things that
don’t even deserve to be an issue in your life.
With only a month of summer technically left, as September will always feel like back to school, and essentially the New Year -We’re often met with uncertainty + fear .
What will I do? How can I make this season better? Where am I doing? What are my goals? Who will I meet? Will I meet my life partner? Is my relationship going to end? Will my business grow? Is this the season I finally get my health into action? Will I feel better? …. the list can go on & on.
All I know is that we have power over our choices. We can’t control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we react to it, therefore I truly believe we can turn any situation positive. Call me grossly optimistic, but I believe it to be true. If we have a choice why choose to see the bad or negative, instead of the good and positive?
Choosing the bad only leads to more heartache in the end, and more time spent in said bad feeling.
After my journey this past decade with Lyme Disease I’ve learned to see every single pain, and moment as a gift. It is. It’s taught me something valuable about myself and others and has shaped me into who I am right at this moment.
Claim this next season to be the most stress-free, positive and healthiest season yet. Heck, don’t even wait for September, a new season, or a new year to kick things up a notch. Maybe these are some things you can start doing today!
Do your best, take small steps forward, keep things in perspective, and IGNORE the following…
BLATANT NEGATIVITY – Keep calm and think positively. Evolve your being and inspire yourself and others. It’s easier to be negative than positive so you sometimes have to train your mind to see and feel the positive. Be thankful for the little struggles you go through today. They make you stronger and wiser. Don’t let them break you, they will make you who are you.
THE PEOPLE WHO TRY TO DUMP EVERYTHING ON YOU – When you follow your heart and intuition, someone will try to discredit you for it. When you finally find something that makes you happy, not everyone will be happy for you. When you show unwavering kindness to others, some people will question your motives. Don’t let anyone of these people stop you from fulfilling your dreams and doing any of these things.
OTHER PEOPLE’S OPINION ON WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU – Don’t ever change just to impress someone. Change because it makes you a better person and leads you to a better future. Being your true self is the most effective path for happiness and success there is.
Honestly I think one of the greatest freedoms is simply not caring what everyone else thinks of you! Take risks and follow your intuition. If I wouldn’t have followed my true gut instinct with my health, I would NOT be where I am today.
THE IDEA OF PERFECTION – No one is perfect. Truly. End of story. Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. You are great at being YOU. You might not be proud of all the things you’ve done in the past (again we are only human and we ALL have these things!) The past is not today. Be 100% proud of who you are, how you’ve grown, and what you’ve learned along the way. Now that is what’s important. Those lessons. Growth through hardships is the biggest blessing you can get.
UNGRATEFUL, MATERIALISTIC THINKING – SIMPLE – When life is good, enjoy it. Don’t always go looking for something better. Happiness never comes to those who don’t appreciate what they have right now. This doesn’t mean you can’t desire more, it simply means you are thankful for what you have now and be patient + work hard for everything you want, and is yet to come.
AN INNER RESISTANCE TO CHANGE – We all have a story. We’ve all gone through something that has changed us in a way that we could never go back to who we once were. This kind of change is inevitable. Everything around you is impermanent – so don’t try to resist it. It’s easy to get into routines of all sorts, ( of course the healthy ones I condone!) but when we resist internal changes because of fear than we are simply telling ourselves and the world that we aren’t worthy.
BOTTOM LINE – Don’t sweat the small stuff. Live simply. Love generously. Speak truthfully. Work diligently. Then let go and let what’s meant to be, BE.
Don’t carry this stuff into the next season, day, week or month.
You are worth so much more than that. You deserve to live a positive life full of health, happiness and passion. This is my wish for you.
Have the best start to your week!
