This dressing is everything, and is used on and in just about everything at home.
Because of its base, it’s creamy, light, satisfying, tangy, spicy, yet has a zing on the end. I use it most often in my salads, as after you’ve massaged kale with this gem, you won’t ever go back to anything else. I also love drizzling it over roasted root vegetables (beets, sweet potatoes, parsnips) + cruciferous veggies, such as cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and even asparagus (which they are often roasted or steamed, depending on my mood).
This dressing is a one stop shop, and can be used on just about everything! Don’t stop me with the above, I’m sure you’ll find ways to incorporate it into your daily + weekly routine. Honestly just thinking about it makes me salivate!
Tahini takes the claim to fame when it comes to the thick and creamy consistency, and just all over greatness. Housing more calcium than any sort of dairy product, Tahini is one of the best forms of calcium you can consume, especially for women.
Next enter in Apple Cider Vinegar + lemon juice. Two of the most alkalizing ingredients you will find in your kitchen bounties. People often think because they have a acidic taste that they are acidic, and although it’s partly true, when they enter into your body, they become completely alkaline. Helping decrease inflammation, rev up your metabolism, and leave your digestion system humming to your favorite tune. I can’t live without either of these, and consume both every. single. day.
Top it off with some key spices and your set. Turmeric + cayenne take the main stage here, oh and a small dash of pink himalayan salt, to round off all the flavors. Talk about some of the most powerful spices in history, and these are it. Curcumin which is what turmeric is composed of, is helping people stave off arthritis, athletic injuries, autoimmune disorders, and even cancer. Turmeric + curcumin are no joke, and should be used on the regular.
As you can see, and in most of my recipes, and foods I consume, it’s so much more than just making things taste great. It’s about nourishment on a cellular level. How can I take whole foods that will help others heal, and make them into recipes that are uber simple, yet highly effective and potent in healing the body. This is my promise to you!
Behold the Golden Tahini Elixir
~ 1/2 Cup of tahini
~ 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
~1/2 lemon squeeze
~ Water by the TBSP to thin it out – Add it by the table spoon, until you reach desired consistency. If you want it thicker, add very little. If you want to make it a touch thinner for a salad dressing, add more water or even ACV
~ TBSP turmeric
~ 1 tsp cayenne (if you don’t like spice leave it out, or just add a small dash)
~ pinch pink salt or sea salt
~ Mix it in a bowl, and add a touch of water or ACV little by little, if it’s too thick.
Make a big batch and keep it in the fridge for the whole week! I love adding it to roasted veggies, steamed greens, romaine salads + massaging it with kale. You could also use it as a sub for hummus! Its uses are endless.
